Room Types
Accommodations at NYU include shared or single bedrooms within multi-bedroom suites, or stand alone studios. All residence halls are air-conditioned and all bathrooms are within suites. Rates vary by room type.
- A shared room is a double- or triple-occupant bedroom within a multi-bedroom suite, so residents have both roommates and suitemates.
- A single room is a single-occupant bedroom within a multi-bedroom suite, so residents have suitemates only.
- A studio is a single-occupant suite, so residents have neither roommates nor suitemates.
Summer residents with qualifying medical needs may request accessible housing after registering for summer housing to be assigned a space that meets their needs.
Note that in Brittany and Carlyle Halls, shared rooms are open to the common area of the suite.
Furniture
All NYU residence halls are fully furnished. Each resident is provided with a twin XL bed and mattress, a desk, a desk chair, a dresser, and a closet or wardrobe. Common areas may include furniture like sofas, chairs, and dining tables if space allows. In some traditional halls, a small refrigerator and microwave are provided as well - these halls are identified on the residence hall pages opens in a new window.
Rooms may be funished for more occupants than are assigned there during the summer term.
