Safety & Security

Campus Safety

Each residence hall has a Campus Safety opens in a new window officer assigned to its entrance at all times. In an emergency, please call 911 first and then contact the Department of Campus Safety at (212) 998-2222 to report an incident.

Turnstiles

Residence hall entrances are equipped with security turnstiles. To enter your residence hall, proceed to the turnstiles in the lobby and tap your NYU ID card on the card reader. Anyone whose summer booking is valid and current at that residence hall will be able to pass through the turnstile. All guests, including residents of other halls, should visit the Campus Safety desk.

NYU IDs & Building Stickers

All residents will receive an NYU ID card opens in a new window upon check in at their residence hall. The ID card must be shown to enter any NYU building (please note that access to various NYU buildings is dependent on affiliation status). Within one week of your arrival, your RA will provide you with an official building sticker to serve as proof of summer residency. This should be attached to your NYU ID card for the entire duration of your summer booking.
